Monday Montage 219

Thanks for joining us for another Monday Montage.  Be sure to get to the bottom and click through to see all the fantastic projects.

I'm sharing projects from my class Friday night.  I did a Best of Bundles class to show off some of the new bundles in the July-Aug Mini Catalog.

The gnomes are one of my favorite items in the catalog! I wanted to be sure to show them in a non holiday way.  I love the full suite in the catalog but the coordinating paper is very winter themed so I wanted to share a way to use the dies that could work year round or for any holiday.  I paired the dies with the awesome Gingham Cottage 12 x 12 paper from the mini.  This pack is HUGE! It has 48 sheets per pack. the result was a cute tag that can be used on a gift or attached to a card.
Picture
The Ringed With Nature bundle offers many creative options.  I paired it with the Rings of Love paper you can earn as a FREE Sale a Bration item to show off how well it coordinates.

This is a fun fold card design.  The base is 8 x 4 1/4 and I scored it at the 5 1/2 mark for a traditional sized card.  However, I used a piece of the Designer Series Paper to create the rest of the flap.  The hybrid embossing folder is my favorite part though.  You can run the die through the folder with your paper and it will cut out the tree cookies!

By the way, what do you call these tree slices?  I worked for the Girl Scouts for a few years and the term was "tree cookie"!

Saturday was my Open House for the new July - December mini catalog and the new Sale a Bration items.  I have been playing with a lot of new product to create samples to share.

One of the stamp sets I was drawn to right away was the All Bundled Up set. These little critters are so cute! I love an image that is perfect for coloring with my Blends and this moose did not disappoint.

The other new product I'm really enjoying is the Host only Designer Series Paper pack Celebrate Everything.  This pack of paper contains 48 sheets and is only available on orders over $150 which qualifies for Host rewards.  Let's talk if you'd like to earn this paper for FREE along with Sale a bration items!

Thanks for joining us for another Monday Montage Blog hop on this holiday.  I hope you are able to spend some time with friends and family this weekend.

I'm so excited for the launch of the new July-December mini catalog and Sale a Bration. So many great new products to play with! I can't get enough of the Splendid Day Suite and the coordinating Pool Party and Sea Foam Cards and Envelopes that you can earn for free during Sale a Bration.  Pairing these card bases with the suite lets you create beautiful cards quickly.

I created a whole stack of cards after die cutting a few pieces and then getting busy crafting!
Picture
I love the texture created using all the die cut elements.  Plus I had to add a little bling.
Picture
Some of these cards are truly simple.   A card base, a piece of Designer Series Paper and a few die cuts...that's it!

I stamped the images onto Designer Series Paper and then die cut them out.
Picture
Layering your die cuts is an easy way to create a card with a lot of dimension.
Picture
This one might be the most simple of all but the paper is so pretty that it really stands out. All of the papers have a foil side.
Picture
This one was inspired by the Stampin' Up! catalog samples.
Picture
Another very simple layout featuring some of the coordinating Designer Series Paper.  I also stamped on the sentiment die cut with one of the stamps to give it more dimension.

It's time for another Monday Montage.  I have to admit summer isn't even officially here but I feel like it's flying by.  The boys are out of school but one started his job and the other is off to camp so we are busy again.

I'm still having fun playing with new products from the Annual Catalog. The Cottage Rose bundle is a favorite but one I've only used a couple of times so far.

I always like the look of using colored pencils on colored card stock.  Here I stamped in Memento Black on Sahara Sand and colored with a white and Old Olive colored pencils. I cut out a number of die cuts on white, vellum and Old Olive card stock and tucked them behind my focal point.
Picture
Don't miss the Stylish Shapes dies as well. I use them all the time! Add a big white twine bow and some rhinestones and it's complete.

Be sure to click next to head to Julie post and back for Elizabeth's!

Welcome back to another Monday Montage.  This week is the last week of school for my kids so I'm trying to get as much work done as possible so I can have some fun time with them before work and camps start up.

My projects this week all feature the Today is the Day Memories and More card pack. I love working with these packs because it makes it so quick and easy to make a stack of cards.  I start by grabbing matching card stock and then I see what I can create using the cards.  I often cut the 4 x 6 cards in half but also will trim them to 4 x 5 1/4 to use as a mat.

For this first one I added a sticker to the middle of the phone and then mounted it on a base of matching strips of card stock.  I used  Gray Granite, Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaron.  It's a great color combo!
Picture
This one used all the leftover pieces from trimming the 4 x 6 cards down.  A great way to use up my scraps.
Picture
On this card I used two 3 x4 cards turning one vertical and one horizontal.
Picture
Layering these pieces looked a little like a polaroid to me. Some quick stamping on the base in Daffodil ink on Daffodil card stock creates texture for the background. I'm also loving the new Glossy Dots for adding bling to my cards.  Pictures don't do these gems justice!

Happy Monday! I'm excited to be participating in another Monday Montage Blog Hop with these talented ladies.  I'm also excited to show off new product from the recently released Annual Catalog.  SO many amazing items.

Today I'm going to share a few cards I made with the Hues of Happiness Suite.  You can find it on pages 108 and 109 in the new catalog. When I first got the paper I started fussy cutting the flowers and then realized that most of the images had dies to match! SO much better than cutting them all by hand.
Picture
Another new item I am in love with is the Stylish Shapes dies. I've already been using them a lot! This card really came together in a flash.
Picture
The Glossy Dots are a perfect embellishment for this suite.  You can never have too much bling...right??
Picture
Adding a little Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon is a perfect little touch for this card.
Picture
You really can let the Designer Series Paper do the work on these designs.  They come together so fast. All of the background pieces are cut to 4 x 5 1/4. This is my go to way of cutting 12 x 12 down for cards.

Three cards all using the same basic layout but changed up just a little each time!

I had a "Best of Bundles" class on Friday night and one of the bundles we used was the Your Biggest Fan bundle.  It's been requested that I add in some "anything but a card" projects to classes so I pulled out the Sweet Little Boxes that are in the January to June mini and we decorated it with the Your Biggest Fan suite.

The boxes are very easy to put together as they come with the adhesive already on them. Simply fold on the score lines, line up and seal together. You can fill with candy but they'd also be perfect for giving a gift card!

I think the cute little Resin Stars might be my favorite part.
Picture
While I had all the supplies out for creating the box I also made up this quick and easy card. This would be perfect to celebrate a birthday or any other milestone someone had! The striped baker's twine really tied the card together for me.

Friday night I had a Fun Folds class via Zoom.  I loved creating these projects.  I am a pretty traditional card maker so I don't always try new and different folds which meant creating this class pushed me out of my usual routine.

I would never have thought I'd be teaching online classes before the pandemic hit but I have to say there really are some great benefits. I have friends from all over who can now take classes with me!

I refered to this first card as an accordian fold.  I don't know if it has another name? I figure it's perfect for sending to someone who you want to celebrate but you might not want to write a long message to on the inside. ?
Picture
This is a Triangle Gate Fold. It looked intimidating until I realized it was two squares that you glue on either side! I've seen ribbon used to close this design as well but I decided to make a belly band instead.
Picture
Picture
I called this one a Book Binding card.  By adding a score line and sealing it shut between the score lines you can crate a unique opening on the left edge.
Picture
The final card was a pocket card.  I love the look of the insert peeking out.
Picture
How many of these have you tried before?  When it comes to creating these, and other fun fold cards, the one tool you need most is a good scorer!  I love that the Stampin' Up! Paper Trimmer has both a cutting and a scoring blade that stays on the cutter at all times. It's very convenient for creating cards like these.

Interested in the class?  I do have packets that can be mailed and PDF's available for purchase.  Email me (emkstamper@gmail.com) if you are interested.

Be sure to hop along with us today.  Click next to head to see Julie's creations or back for Elizabeth's.  Everyone has great projects to share.

It's finally feeling like spring here and I am loving it! It's got me thinking in bright cheery colors and lots of flowers.

Friday night I had a class and one of the techniques that had been requested was using the Soft Pastels.  It was a good chance for me to learn ways to use them! I decided to try watercoloring with them.

For this card I shaved some of the Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade onto a block using my paper snips.  I then used the smallest Water Painter to lift color from the block.  The image was stamped in Memento Black ink on Watercolor paper.

The Quiet Meadow stamp set I used also happens to be on sale this month as part of the Savings Are in Bloom promotion.
Picture
I did a lot of distressing on this card which is not my usual style but I had fun branching out.

I stamped the word stamp on the Daffodil Delight card stock piece first and then ran it through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine with the Timeworn Type emobossing folder.  To get the distressed edges and torn corners I ran my Paper Snips along the edges and pulled at the corner to split it in two.

The thread was created by pulling apart the strands of the black twine and then loosly winding them under the sentiment strip.

The final step was using the splatter stamp which I stamped in Memento Black but after stampin off on scratch paper first to lighten the look.

It's time for another Monday Montage and I'm excited to share a series of cards with you.

When prepping for my last class I cut extra pieces so I could make up additional cards. I had fun playing with the same basic elements but changing up the layout and looks.

Each card uses Mango Melody base, a 3 x 4 piece of the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper, three die cut leaves and most have a piece of Evening Evergreen Windowpane Check ribbon.

I did break out my retired stitched circles.  I can't help it--I love them and miss them!
Picture
The background on this one was done using a blending brush and the new Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Masks (they are currently out of stock).  And yes, I did leave some of the pieces of the leaves still intact on purpose.  I like the look!

There are some really great sentiments in some of the stamp sets in the January to June Mini!
