Flowers of Friendship

I might be a little obsessed with this flower stamp! There are so many uses.

Here are a few ideas I wanted to share that feature Designer Series Paper.  It's a great time to pull out your paper and use it up since so many of the new papers will be on sale starting Thursday.

I learned something new today while I was writing this post. I had always thought this technique was called Paper PieRcing--it's not! It's Paper Piecing without the r.  It was a quilting technique originally.

The technique is to stamp the image on Designer Series Paper and cut it out.  You then adhere it over the outline stamped image. With so many patterned papers the options are limitless.

I also used the Blending Brushes to add a little color.  First in the upper left corner where I stamped the sentiment but also on the leaves in my stamped image.

For this second card I simply stamped my image directly on the Designer Series Paper.  Sometimes I forget about doing this!

June Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

I knew I was going to love this Paper Pumpkin because of the alcohol wash papers! It did not disappoint.
Picture
As usual, the first thing I did was cut one set of card bases apart to give me additional supplies to work with. Adding a few pieces of cardstock allowed me to create double the cards.

Stamping the flower stamp in the same color ink gives the watermark look to the image.  It's a go to technique for me!

Don't forget you can stamp on your envelopes too!

Sometimes a simple card is the best.  In this case the paper does all the work. I simply added my sentiment directly to the paper, adhered to a white base and added some bling.  Easiest card ever!
Picture
I've found my self needing wedding cards so this kit lent itself perfectly to the theme.  Again, by simply adding cardstock and changing up the design, I was able to create new and fun alternatives.
Picture
These vellum pieces are so pretty.  I did use some dimensionals that I hid under the label on this one.

The hardest part of using vellum is keeping your adhesive from showing.  I try to look for larger sections of printing or places where I'll be adding something on top to cover it.
Picture
Another easy layout that is wonderful thanks to the leafy pieces.
Picture
This one is a little busier than some of the others but sometimes I can go crazy with lots of layers and embellishments.

Circle Celebration Ideas

I couldn't let this set disappear without featuring it.  I created two very similar cards using two different color combos.  I combined it with the new Biggest Wish stamp set.
Picture
For the sentiment on both cards I did fussy cut around the outside lines of the word Thanks and popped them up with dimensionals.
Picture
I had to make sure this card got a little sparkle too so I used the Misty Moonlight and silver Bakers Twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo.
Picture
For the Just Jade & Gold ribbon on this card I frayed the ends for a different look.

I'm on a Night of Navy kick all of a sudden! I like how it pairs with the subtleness of the Pale Papaya.

This little turtle is too cute!  With a matching punch he's easy to use as well.
Picture
This little turtle I stamped in Memento Black  and his shell in Granny Apple Green.  I then colored the rest of him with Sea Foam Blends.

I think I needed this set for the belated birthday sentiment especially!  Those who know me, know that I'm ALWAYS late with birthday cards.

This one I stamped in Memento Black on Granny Apple Green and then added the shell in Granny Apple Green as well.  The Pattern Party Hostess Paper Pack is the perfect addition to the card.

Don't miss the Tailor Made Tag dies as well.  Found on page 166 they can get overlooked since they don't have a specific coordinating stamp set.

May Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

6/4/2021

I'll admit when I first opened this month's kit I was not sure I was going to come up with a lot of alternatives.  The card bases were only printed on the front so it limited the options there.  However, once I started playing with the stamps I had so much fun!
Picture
One of my biggest tips is to make your own baseballs! Just grab a circle and a red marker and free hand.  I drew the two half circles and then made the stitching marks.  You can create any size you want.
Picture
I also really liked the font of the sentiments.  They inked so well!  I stuck with Night of Nave on most of my cards.
Picture
Picture
Creating a background using the stamps and the same color ink as the cardstock allows for quick cards.
Picture
I kept some without a "person" on them so I could use them when I needed them!
A few others I made for Father's Day and (shh) my Dad's birthday!
Picture
I loved the Crushed Curry paired with the Night of Nave and Real Red.
Picture
I still made a full set of the cards as intended.

I really ended up liking this kit a lot!  Be sure to sign up by June 10th to get this month's box.  It contains TWO ink spots!
